New blog design

Well, with the help of Kristin from the Wowstampers group, I have put a new design to my blog.  She told me about http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com/.  Went there and played around.  This is the 3rd design I tried in one day so it may very well change again depending what all I find with looking around more.  Thanks so much Kristin.

ANYONE UP FOR A SWAP?

I know I uploaded this Recipe Card before but... I am hosting a 6x6 Recipe Card Swap for the 2010 year. Each month there will be a different theme. January is Main Dishes. You would create 6 of the same card, mail to me and in return get 5 different cards back. One goes to the host, me. These cards should be something you would be thrilled to receive in the mail yourself. They should be more than 1 layer, this card is 5, have some type of stamped image and embellish as you wish. Also include a small piece of paper or cardstock ( I like to print business card size) with the recipe for your recipe card. Meaning stamp set used, paper, ink, embellishments.... whatever you used to create your card.
Place in a resealable bag so they don't get wet during mailing then in proper sized envelope/box with proper postage attached. Please be sure to enclose a SASE for your return cards. Send and extra .17 stamp incase the return envelope weighs more then the one you send. Any unused postage will be returned to you with your cards each month.
This is a 12 month commitment however if you are joining late, that is ok. Check my blog for previous cards I have received last year doing a swap like this. It is so very exciting getting that envelope each month. We had 18 girls in the swap last year so each month I made 20 cards. I know that sounds like a lot but once you get that first one done, the rest go by in no time.
You might want to make 8 of them so you have 2 extra for yourself.
If you are wondering how to store/display these, you can buy 6x6 albums in a lot of craft stores or from places like Stampin Up. If you don't know of any Stampin Up demonstrators, contact me and I can provide you with the proper info. No, I am not a demo, maybe some day.
Also, if you check out www.Splitcoaststampers.com and do a search for recipe pages, you can get lots of ideas. There is so, so much talent on that sight.
If you would like to join the swap, please contact me at JrnyFanIAm@aol.com
I will then provide you with mailing information and can answer any other questions you may have. Hope to hear from you.

Golden Retreiver Ornament

Ok, for all you dog fans. I went hog wild with buying dog stamps on ebay a few months ago. I found these ornaments at Michaels and bought a few. I stamped him with Brown Stazon and heat set it. Then added Swarvski Crystals, did I spell that right? They are a amber/brown color. I love using them. They are just soooo much prettier then regular rhinestones. However, not many of us can afford to use the real thing all the time. And of course added a sheer ribbon for the hanger. I did package him for sale. This is another one of those items I was afraid would get broke before getting to check-out. Isn't he such a nice looking puppy! :)

Christmas Tags

Well, again after Christmas, 2 tags using Cuttlebug folders. Both are cut with Spellbinder Label One dies. Both have base cardstock embossed with Snowflake folder. Double matted and stamped images with Inkadinkado. Embellished them with tiny crystals (I love crystals). Added sheery type ribbon.

Cuttlebug cards

Here are a few Cuttlebug cards I made before Christmas. I used a variety of papers for all. Top is with the 2 step 3x3 Tree die. Also used Swiss Dots on pink piece. Red, Black & White card I used Snowflake embossing folder on background and 2 step 3x3 Snowflake die. I don't believe I embossed the snowflakes. I attached a red crystal to the center and lots of tiny clear crystals to the outsides of snowflake. Red ribbon on bottom. The pink, brown & cream card I used the embossing folder to the Dove 2 step die. Swiss Dots on the pink paper and Spellbinders scallop square for the cream sheet. Brown dotted ribbon across bottome. Last card I embossed background with Peace, Love, Joy ( I think) folder. Spellbinders scallop rectangles and stamped the Angel with Inkadinkado "Angel" set. Added 3 dew drops.

Cat Coasters

Here is the set of Cat decorative coasters I made. I think they look kinda evil? I used tiles from Lowes, Stazon Brown on 2 and Stazon Black on the other 2. Each cat does have a different color of eyes even though you can't see them. I did bake them for a bit. I attached small felt dots to each of the outside corners then stacked and tied together with ribbon. Surprised but happy they sold already. The stamp is Magenta.

Dog Brag Book

And here we have a purse size brag book I
altered with "Dog" theme. All cardstock is
DCWV. Made a matted piece to attach
photo of your dog. I took pic before I added
a quick stamped image of a dog to show what
it is for. Them made shadowed "My Best Friend"
from a Sizzix die. Slipped everything back into
the plastic cover to protect it.

Cat/Kitty Date Books

Here are 2 Calendars I have altered. Got them both at Michaels and they already contained a Cat theme so the pages on inside have kitty's on them. I covered them using all DCWV cardstock/paper. Used my Paw punch for both. Stamped "Meow" on the one and die cut "Kitty" using Sizzix Hello Kitty alphabet. I now realize I don't have the year displayed on the so I will take care of that today. O, these are the pocket/purse size 2 year calendars.

Some other recipe cards from December

Aren't the GREAT!!!
Thanks to Ethleen Timm Rhees and Bonnie Olson

Pecan Pie 6x6 Recipe Card

Here is a recipe card I received from
a December swap. I wanted to make
a Pecan Pie for Christmas but didn't
have a recipe. I came home from
shopping on Christmas Eve and
was going to look up a recipe online.
Well, the mail came and I had my envelope
with my December swap inside. The
first card I seen was this one. What a
great surprise. The recipe card is by
Kimberly Johnson. Isn't it pretty!?
And the pie turned out fabulous.
